Sabastian has been attending part-time "Summer Toddler Day Camp", aka, day care, for the past two weeks now. He goes every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8-11. Surprisingly enough, when not using the time to catch up on some rest, I have found myself searching for something to do during those short, but sometimes seemingly long three hours. Since cleaning is something I do on a regular basis, as a necessity and
not a hobby, I decided this was not how I would spend my precious alone time. :) Instead, I made an attempt to channel my more creative side by indulging in some arts and crafts. My first project consisted of a couple of unfinished wooden frames that I picked up for only a buck each at Michael's. In addition, I bought some acrylic paints, brushes and already painted wooden decorations to customize the naked frames. Since Sabastian's new "big boy" room is now themed "transportation", I decided to decorate the frames with cars and a helicopter (surprise, surprise). Here is a snapshot of my finished products. Not half bad, huh? I found the whole experience soothing and relaxing, but fun at the same time. I have a few more projects lined up for this week. Check back to find out what they are!
